ANTIQUE VICTORIAN STERLING SILVER KITTIE BROOCH CIRCA LATE 1800S
A Lovely Example of Victorian Silver Jewellery with Makers Mark
This quaint, sterling silver brooch is handmade and carved with the name Kittie. There is some foliate carvings around the edges. The back is hallmarked with the makers mark W.H.L and I was ables to find the following details regarding the maker. “According to The Compendium of Chester Gold & Silver Marks 1570 - 1962 the mark appears to be for William Henry Leather, jeweller of 11 Pitsford Street Birmingham. Mark registered in Chester on May 31, 1894.”
The brooch, hook and pin are in excellent condition and it closes securely. It measures approximately 4.3cms x 1.5cms.
