Antique Victorian Necklace Circa 1800’s

This charming necklace features a ‘kite shaped’ Amethyst set in an ornate mount with delicate scrolls, leaf and flower motifs. My favourite thing about this piece is the bells that hang from the bottom. It’s delightful.

The piece is not gold, I think it is possibly pinchbeck, but this is not mentioned on the valuation. It is in excellent condition considering its age, however there is a little bit of wear and tear to the wheat chain (see photos). This piece needs to be handled with care to avoid the chain becoming ‘kinked’.

It comes with a valuation certificate with a Retail Replacement Value of $1,160. The pendant itself measures approximately 37mm x 30mm and the chain measures approximately 40cms, so the pieces sits nicely just below the collar bone.

It is a beautiful, handmade piece and we have left it in original condition (no cleaning has been done).
