Presenting a romantic piece from Circa 1880’s. This Victorian brooch represents romantic and intense love and fidelity. Heart-shaped jewellery was particularly popular during the period, not only because Queen Victoria herself owned heart-shaped pieces, but also because of the interest in sentimentalism during this period.

The theme of this brooch is "a pair of hearts" cut in Amethyst that are bound together, forever. by a golden bow that’s inlayed with seed pearls. The Amethysts are good in colour, one of them has a natural flaw through the centre on a single plane. This does not affect the wear of the piece and only goes to further authenticate the natural and antique nature of the piece.

This is a fairly large brooch measuring 4.5cms long at the widest point and 1.6cms wide.

The setting is 15ct yellow gold with a white metal pin and hinge that is in good antique condition.
