This beautiful Victorian bangle is 140 years old! Happy Anniversary!

It is solid sterling silver and features raised flowers and leaves with beadwork around the edges. The bangle was made in Birmingham in 1885 and bears these hallmarks plus the makers mark of S Bros for the Sydenham Brothers who were manufacturing jewellers in Tenby Street, Birmingham in the late 1880s to early 1900s. The photos really don’t do this piece justice.

The bangle is very well made. The hinge is strong and in good working order and the clasp is wide and clicks securely shut. The piece measures approximately 1.5cms wide with a circumference of around 17cms so it will fit a medium wrist. The front of the bracelet is in perfect, antique condition and the back has minimal, minor dents which we have captured in the pictures.

This beautiful piece weighs 18.56 grams and bears the lion mark for sterling silver.

One can't help but imagine where this piece of antiquity has been and who were fortunate enough to have worn it.
