ANTIQUE SILVER DOUBLE SOVEREIGN CASE HALLMARKS FOR BIRMINGHAM 1906-07 BY WILLIAM LUCKET
ANTIQUE SILVER DOUBLE SOVEREIGN CASE HALLMARKS FOR BIRMINGHAM 1906-07 BY WILLIAM LUCKET
A Beautiful Edwardian Sterling Silver Double Sovereign Case
This case features an engraved heart with leafy motif on the front and a floral bouquet on the back. Inside, the case reveals 2 sovereign holders with spring mechanisms that are in good order. They are hallmarked Birmingham 1907 while the case itself is hallmarked Birmingham 1906 with the makers mark for William Lucket. It is fitted with a loop for attaching to a fob chain or necklace.
The case is in very good antique condition, however, the little opening button is missing. This does not affect the function of the case which can be easily opened and snaps closed securely and we have adjusted the price accordingly. The hinge is solid and performs as it should. There are a few minor divets in the silver case, which is commensurate with its age and not really visible.
The piece measures approximately 5.5cms x 3cms and weighs approx 35 grams.
