This is a dainty, Cameo locket from the Victorian Era c1880s.
It features a romantic lady with flowers in her wispy hair. The small Cameo sits in high relief and is carved in conch shell. The reverse if fitted with bloodstone which was a symbol of courage and strength to the Victorians.
The piece opens to reveal a little photo gallery on one side. The hinge is in good order and it tests 9ct gold but there is no hallmark.
The locket measures approximately 2.3cms long (not including the hoop) and 1cm wide, so it’s the perfect size to wear on a daily basis. Please note that the chain shown in the photos is not included in this sale and is for display purposes only.
